A. Michael Hartman, eighty-six, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away peacefully on October eighteenth, two thousand twenty-five, surrounded by his loving family. Born November sixth, nineteen thirty-nine, Mike wasn't just a husband, father, proud veteran, or coach-he was soccer in human form. As a young goalie for the Denver Kickers, he dove like gravity owed him favors. Then, when cleats gave way to clipboard, he built a dynasty: the Denver Southwest Bandits, whose fourteen consecutive first-place wins at the Youth Soccer State Championships are still unbreakable, the trophy's on display at the CSYSA office like sports royalty. No coach to this day, has been able to beat his coaching record. To Mike, victories were nice. But helping his players acheive college scholarships, that was his legacy. He is survived by daughters Roxanne and Heidi, son Michael, seven grandchildren, Danielle, Angela, Ashli, Jamie, John, Cameron, Chad and four great grandchildren, Christian, Colton, Charlotte and Rosalee. They didn't just get his genes-they got the full Mike: his wide grin that could charm a referee out of a red card. Mike was dedicated to his family and always just a phone call away. He was predeceased by his parents, Katherina and Peter, his brother Edward, his wife Kathryn and grandson Keith.
