Alma “Dianne” (Beck) Farley, 88, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at her home in Durango, Colorado, surrounded by her cherished family. Dianne was a devoted and loving wife, mother, Dana, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Although she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been joyfully reunited with the love of her life, Gil, and with their beloved son, Ronnie. 

Dianne was born on March 11, 1938, in Hollywood, California, to Artie Merrill Beck and Bertha Mae (Bradshaw) Beck. She was the adored younger sister of Barbara Mae (Beck) Kihm. On May 3, 1957, she married her sweetheart, Gilbert L. Farley, in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Their sixty-six years together were filled with unwavering love, faith, laughter, and devotion. Together they raised six wonderful children: Rusty Farley (Eva), Ronnie Farley (deceased), Cindy Tuck (Pete), Doug Farley (Carol), Suzanne McBride (Tracy), and Tom Farley (Keely). Their family continued to grow and Dianne affectionately became Dana to 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Dianne’s eternal family meant everything to her. She and Gil were true partners in every sense of the word. Together they shared a vision of creating the kind of family they both longed for and a home filled with faith, unconditional love, hard work, laughter, and cherished traditions. Gil built the home and Dianne made it magical. While Gil worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their family, Dianne devoted herself to making their house a place everyone wanted to be. Together they transformed their dream into reality on their beloved property in Durango, surrounded by their family. Their home became the heart of the Farley family—a place where every holiday was celebrated, every milestone was shared, and every visitor felt like they were part of the family.

Dianne believed the happiest moments in life were the ones spent together. Christmas at Dana and Papa's house was unforgettable, especially the enormous Christmas tree that the grandchildren eagerly helped decorate each year. Dana knew how to make ordinary moments memorable. There were adventures through the forest, penny books waiting to be filled, and weekly "Treat Days" to choose something special from her candy cupboard. Dana gave the very best hugs—they were warm, comforting, and somehow made everything better.

Dianne was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She found great joy in sharing her testimony through music. She loved serving in Primary and teaching children to sing. Her favorite Primary songs were My Heavenly Father Loves Me and When He Comes Again. Dianne was also an unforgettable Cub Scout leader. She created adventures and memories that some of her grandsons still talk about today.

Dianne possessed a quick wit, a playful spirit, and a contagious sense of fun. Family photo albums are filled with silly faces because she could never smile normally for a picture. She loved making people laugh and never took herself too seriously. Whether she was tearing through the forest on the Fat Cat motorcycles or ATV Ranger with the dogs at her side, or racing someone half her age in her 1978 Ford Pickup Truck—and usually winning—she embraced life with enthusiasm and joy.

Dianne always had a pocket full of black licorice and was drawn to the color coral. Long before healthy living became popular, Dianne was filling her family's lives with herbs, tinctures, magnets, crystals, fresh fruit, carrot juice, and her famous green "caterpillar juice” made from her comfrey plants. She quietly slipped healthy ingredients into meals, convinced frozen peas belonged in salad (much to Gil's dismay), and always had a natural remedy ready for anyone who needed one.

Dianne had a remarkable gift for making beautiful things grow. Whether tending her flourishing gardens, sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren, or decorating her home, she expressed her love with her hands. She had an unmistakable green thumb and delighted in ladybugs dancing among her flowers. Everything she did became warmer, brighter, and more beautiful because of the care she gave it.

The Farley family will gather together on their property to celebrate the life of Dianne. She lived an extraordinary life filled with faith, joy, humor, and love. Her family treasures the beautiful legacy she leaves behind and looks forward with hope to the day they are joyfully reunited with her once again.
