Ann Storrs
Kellogg
d. Aug 1, 2026
Durango,CO
Ann Storrs Kellogg, born Ann Read Storrs, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026 in Durango, Colorado, at the age of 95.
Born on May 7, 1931 in Hartford, Connecticut, Ann was the eldest child and only daughter of William Huntington Storrs and Margery Steele Storrs. She grew up in Connecticut, where some of her happiest memories were formed sailing the waters of Niantic Bay in her beloved sloop, Zip 29.
Ann attended Loomis Chaffee School and earned a degree in English from Wellesley College in 1953. After college, she volunteered for the Winant Society, working as a camp counselor for youth in London’s heavily bombed West End. While studying for her MA in Education, the great love story of her life began at Harvard, where she met William Oscar Kellogg. They were wed on September 3, 1955, launching a devoted partnership that spanned 64 years.
They made their home at St. Paul's School from 1955 until 1994, fully immersed in the community and all that boarding school life offered. They built a life of travel, learning, and shared adventure, visiting dozens of countries; from Russia, China, South Africa, Nepal, and India, to year-long sabbaticals in Athens, Greece during 1963 and Cambridge, England in 1977. They also cherished their regular extended stays on Australia's east coast, spending treasured time with their second daughter and her family.
In 2005, Ann and Bill moved to Boulder, Colorado to be closer to their son and his family. Ann created beautiful watercolors, went to restaurants, lectures and the symphony with Bill, and together they embraced grandparenthood and being active in the mountains they loved.
Ann's broad and varied interests reflect her curiosity and creativity. She was an accomplished watercolor painter, skilled ski instructor, an avid astrologer, and occasional yoga instructor and reflexology practitioner. Above all, Ann was devoted to her family. She is survived by her three children: Julie Coburn, Elli Blackwell, and Rico (Henry) Kellogg; her seven grandchildren, Matt, Rachael, Sarah, Emily, Reid, Boden, and Alden; and her three great-grandchildren, Rain, Clancy, and Daly.
Ann filled her long life with generosity, creativity, and deep affection for family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, the friendships she cultivated across states and continents, and the many lives she enriched through her kindness, wisdom, and enduring sense of wonder.
