Jeffry Richard Baker passed peacefully at his home in Durango, Colorado, on January 13, 2022 of complications related to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
Jeff was born on January 7, 1949 to Dick and Ellie Baker, who raised him with love and pride and principles. After graduating high school, he served his country as marine in Vietnam, where he learned about and never forgot the horrors of war. He went to law school on the GI Bill and was first in his class. In 1975 he married his law school sweetheart, Deborah Anderson. They raised their daughters Julia and Meghann, and practiced law together in Jeff’s beloved Durango. Jeff was a gift from the universe to his family, and nothing gave him more pleasure than smiling with his wife and his children.
He is survived by his Wife, Deborah Anderson, his children Julia Fisher and Meghann Baker, his grandchildren Cedar Fisher, Teo Fisher, Clara Baker and Lily Baker, his sons in law Ben Fisher and Mitch Baker, and his five siblings Linda Foltz, Dave Baker, Tom Baker, Dick Baker and Tim Baker.
Jeff can be honored by contributions to community charities of the reader's choice.
A celebration of his life will take place this summer and will be announced in advance.
