H. Prescott Blake was born October 21st 1932 in Monticello, Utah to Charlotte Mae Coleman and H. Elwyn Blake.
Prescott was the 4th of 9 children. The Blake family home was on the Animas River, where Island Cove Mobile Home Park is now located in Durango. Their log home still stands and is in use today. Prescott and his siblings loved growing up on the river. He had fond memories of the large family garden, ice skating, skiing, hunting and fishing.
