Carmen Bernice Slade passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, at in Peoria, AZ. She was 93 years old.
Carmen was born December 8, 1931, to Gilbert B. Slade and Nancy Harris Slade at home in Kline, Colorado. Since the age of 2 years old, she has lived her whole life on the same land.
Carmen put herself through college and obtained a master's degree in Education at Adams State University. She taught school in Battle Mountain, NV, and at Fort Lewis Mesa Elementary in Kline. She was a faithful member of the Redmesa LDS church. He whole life revolved around service to her family and her community - she was always helping somebody. Her passing leaves a large space in her family and community - She will be missed.
She is survived by sister: Judy Albrecht; children: Melanie (Scott) Davey, Amy (Eric) Rayburn, Sandra Harris, and Michael (Connie) Slade, Leonard Slade and Bill Slade; 38 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 10 great-greatgranchildren
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald King Slade; parents; 2 (3) sons, (1 daughter), 3 brothers, a sister, and 3 grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at the Redmesa Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. and burial will follow at Kline Cemetery.
