Kelly Cline

Charles Kelly Cline, known to most simply as Kelly, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Durango, surrounded by the love and care of his family on the Med Surg Garden unit. He was 57 years old.

Kelly was born on March 28, 1968, in Northern California. A lover of the outdoors, he found joy in camping and spending time in nature. His hands were rarely idle—his many hobbies included woodworking, cabinetry, knife making, and restoring his beloved 1987 GMC Jimmy, which he took great pride in.

For many years, Kelly worked as a cab driver in Durango, where he built friendships and connections throughout the community. He was known for his easygoing nature, generous spirit, and kind heart. To know Kelly was to know a true friend.

A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held on Thursday, August 21, from 4 to 8 PM at Rotary Park in Durango. Friends and loved ones are encouraged to bring a chair and a dish to share as we honor his memory together in the way he would have loved—surrounded by community, conversation, and the great outdoors.

He will be dearly missed.
