Clara Nola Burns's Obituary

Clara Nola Burns, 70, passed away suddenly in her home on March 24, 2026. Born in Denver, CO in 1955, Clara moved with her family to Ignacio in 1961. Clara was a beloved hairdresser in the Four Corners area for over 50 years, working out of her salon Custom Cuts by Clara in the heart of Ignacio. People who knew Clara knew she had a kind and generous heart and that she loved her husband Tony, Jesus, her family, her kitties, and the Ignacio community deeply.

Clara is survived by her daughter Mara (Mark) Dingman, née Anaya; grandchildren Jared (Cierra Johnson) Dingman and Summer Dingman; sister Bernice (George) Gallegos; Father-in-Law Ronald (Billie – d.) Burns; sisters-in-law Debra (Bjarne) Siverson, Denise (Jim Hayes) Burns, and Dawn (David) Johnston; and many nieces and nephews.

Clara is predeceased by her husband Donald Anthony “Tony” Burns, parents Joseph Romero and Alicia (Sanchez) Romero, mothers-in-law Billie Burns and Loretta Haybarker; brother Dominick (Susan) Romero, sister Neva Romero, and brother-in-law Michael Haybarker.

A celebration of life will be held later; exact date and location has yet to be determined. The family thank the Ignacio community, Pine Valley Church of Bayfield, and her beloved customers for their friendship, care, and compassion over the years.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the cat shelter who graciously took in her cherished cats Mokie and Mudgie.
