Clifton William Austin Greany

Clifton William Austin Greany, known as Austin to his family and friends, made his final journey home on April 23rd 2025. Services will be held at the Southern Ute Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.

Austin was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Stacy Greany. Then Austin came to Aztec New Mexico, where he was raised by his aunt / mom Brenda and Uncle/Dad Donnie Velasquez. Austin enjoyed sports, snowboarding, as well as working on cars. Austin loved training with his brother, Jeremy, in martial arts. Austin had a special bond and enjoyed his time with his cousin, Kenneth Kay of Aztec, New Mexico. Austin was a member of the Osage Nation of Oklahoma and also carried blood from Southern Cheyenne, Lakota and Ho’Chunk tribes. Austin attended Aztec schools where he wrestled and played football.

Austin didn't have an easy life as he lost some of the most important people in his life. It took it’s toll on Austin as he struggled to find his way in life. Austin was loved by his parents, grandparent, siblings, cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother: Stacy Greany; grandparents: Clifton and Louise Greene; father: Donnie Velasquez; sisters: Luciana and Deanne Toadlena Velasquez; brothers: Jeremy Velasquez and Randel Ben Velasquez.

Austin is survived by his mother: Brenda Velasquez of Aztec New Mexico; brothers: Abel Velasquez Jr, Aaron Velasquez and Abel Velasquez, III, all of Bayfield, Colorado, Brandon Velasquez of Aztec, New Mexico, Timmy Velasquez of Denver Colorado and Roman Velasquez of Ignacio, Colorado; sisters: Kelly Velasquez of Ignacio, Colorado, Carrie Velasquez of Gallup, New Mexico, Cheyenne Albo of Ignacio, Colorado, and Susan and Zoe Velasquez of Denver Colorado, girlfriend: Audrey Eaton of Bloomfield, New Mexico, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
