With heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of our Father David Jackson on Friday July 10, 2026. Dave was born on 6/17/1945 in Ainsworth, Nebraska. The family moved to Lakewood Colorado and Dave graduated from Lakewood High. After graduating Dave attended Fort Lewis College in Durango and that is where he met Barbara Denison. They were married on November 20th, 1965. They were married for 52 years. Dave was the hardest working man ever! He retired from Safeway after 26 years. Dave retired from the Durango Silverton Narrow Guage Railroad after 15 years. He retired from the Durango Fire Department after 28 years and retired from the Durango School District after 37 years. Dave was recognized locally by 3 things: His handlebar moustache ,His cherry Harley , and  His presence at every breakfast house in Durango, Bayfield and Mancos.  If you ever rode Bus 5, he was your bus driver. If you ever played football, you probably rode his bus for away games. If you ever got your CDL license or CPR certification it might have come from one of his trainings.

 Dave was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Ellen Jackson and his wife Barbara Jackson. Dave is survived by his children Brandye, Hushton and Shalako, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers and 1 sister as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
