Jun "Jon" Dimacali
Jun Dimacali (Jon to his American friends) was born in San Luis, Papanga, Philippines, on June 3, 1952. After college he was accepted into the US Navy. He served in several capacities but was most proud of being a Seabee (Construction Battalion). After discharge from the Navy he worked in California. He raised two beautiful children with his wife, Fe. In 2003, he married Charlene Mason and moved to Durango in 2004. He started a handyman business here and was working at a customer’s when he fell off the ladder and sustained his fatal injuries.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene, son: Messiah (Jay), daughter: Marie Rillorta, step-daughter: Melody Sutton, brothers: Carling, Luciano and Ramon from the Philippines, brothers: Rufino and Daniel and sister: Perla Toneff, all from California, five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Columba Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 15, at 10 am. Burial will be at Greenmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Catholic Charities or St. Columba School.
