Dolores Lindsay

On November 14th, 2023 Dolores Lindsay passed peacefully with her daughter Delery by her side, joining her beloved husband Richard in heaven.

Dolores was born November 2nd, 1940 in Durango Colorado. Durango always held her heart and her family. It is a blessing that she was called home from Durango to the waiting arms of her husband.

Dolores attended Fort Lewis College where she met Richard. They married after a long engagement, moving to Denver, La Junta and McCook Nebraska for Richard's job for Mann Theaters. Along the way Deborah arrived with a Denver birth. Dolores's heart called them back to Durango for the arrival of their second daughter Delery. Dolores worked at Colorado Social Services for a number of years, eventually retiring from Fort Lewis College. She loved to travel, their adventures always included family and close friends.

Dolores was an active member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in both Durango and Farmington. She was a Catholic Daughter and active with Beta Sigma Phi. She treasured the days of grandchildren, where she watched them play football, baseball and soccer games. God blessed her with three grandsons: Scott Schwab, Dade Lindsay and Gunnar Schwab. They were her shining stars, she was blessed to spend her final days under her grandson Dade's watchful eye and care. Dolores loved to cook and share her celebratory meals with her family and friends. She was always happiest when surrounded by friends and family, whether traveling or sharing celebrations and holidays.

Dolores will be laid to rest next to her husband in a private graveside ceremony in Durango, Colorado.

A rosary and Celebration of Life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Farmington in December. (Date & time to come later).
