Dora Mae (Martinez) Greer, born 3/10/1945, 80, of Marvel, Colorado, passed on 10/14/25 at home.
Dora was the youngest of nine children born to Jose D. Martinez and Eufemia Moya Martinez. Dora married Dick Seward Greer in 1973, who shared 5 children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews together.
At a young age, Dora began working as a babysitter and cleaning house. Later on, she worked at the Silver Spur in Durango, where she got to meet a few movie stars. She later worked at the Utah State Tax Commission and then went on to spend 31years at the Marvel post office, earning many awards for her service.
Dora was an asset to her community. She started the Opportunity bus in Marvel, always making sure the less fortunate were fed and clothed. Welcoming people who needed a hot dinner and warm place to stay into her home. Dora was known for taking in stray animals, making her house their home. One of Dora’s favorite things to do at home was spending time outside, tending to her flowers.
Mrs. Greer is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Missy), and sons Michael (Stretch) Greer, Rodger Greer, Marlon Greer, and Paul Greer.
