Fidel Gonzales passed away on June 13, 2023 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington.
Fidel was born on April 7, 1935 to Pete & Mary Gonzales in McFee, Colorado.
Fidel enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, boating, race car driving, riding motorcycles, ATV’s and Utv’s. He worked for the City of Durango for 36 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Edna M. Gonzales and his sons: Michael J. and Ronald L. Gonzales.
He is survived by: son, Robert L. Gonzales; daughters Phyllis G. Rivera and Kathleen J. Gonzales; brother, Alfonso Gonzales and sister, Mary (JoAnn) Rocha, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 6pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Durango. Mass will also be held at Sacred Heart on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 9am, with a luncheon to follow.
