Gerard Mario Rael

Gerard "Mario" Rael passed away on January 02, 2025 at his home in Durango, Colorado. Mario was born on June 20, 1967 in Ignacio, Colorado.

Mario enjoyed listening & dancing to oldies music with his head phones. He loved shopping at flea markets, thrift stores & Walmart especially in the toy section. He loved anything Star Wars, playing pinball machines, He loved anything Harley Davidson. He loved & collected GI Joes dolls. He loved to go fishing. He devoutly prayed grace at mealtimes. He always attended our Southern Ute Bear Dance to see friends & enjoy fry bread & a bowl of chili. Before he hung up from a phone call he always said, “Lots of Love.” 

Mario is survived by George Steven Rael/Brother, Theresa Rael/Sister, Joseph ”Bowdee” Rael Jr./Brother, Geraldine Rael/Sister, Joseph Earl Head Rael Sr./Father, and numerous Nieces & Nephews. 

He is preceded in passing by Corleen “Pinky” Rael/Sister, Patricia Rael/Mother, Fernando Head Rael/Uncle, David Rael/Cousin, as well as numerous loss of extended family. 

A viewing & a small service for Mario will be held at Hood Mortuary on Monday, January 6th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
