Harvey Eugene Connell

July 9, 1928 — July 6, 2025

Bloomfield, New Mexico

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father
Harvey Eugene Connell
1928 - 2025

Harvey passed away on July 6th in Durango, Co surrounded by family. He was 96 years, 11 months, and 27 days old. Born on July 9, 1928, to Harvey and Bessie Connell in Stanly County, North Carolina.

He joined the Army Air Corps (US Air Force) in 1946 at the young age of 17, he was stationed in Japan and Korea just after WW2. He was promoted to Sargent in his years with the military, there were many great stories, and he wore his Veteran's hat proudly.

Harvey moved to California, met and married JoAnn Noble and together they had three daughters. Karen, Debra and Teri. After many years JoAnn had a desire to move back to her hometown Durango. Harvey loved to hunt Missionary Ridge, so he was eager to move.

In the early 1970's, the family moved to beautiful Durango, Colorado to raise the girls. He ventured out and bought the Conoco gas station on the corner of 6th and Main. There were many lifelong friends made along the way, he often joked about outliving all of them except his good friend, Tim. In his later years he moved to Bloomfield and called it home for over 30 years. His happiest days were spent in his backyard with family, gardening, barbecuing chicken and drinking Budweiser that's where he would be found.

Harvey is survived by his children; Karen Parry, Debra and Jeff Roster, Teri and Dustin Wyrum, Harvey Eugene Youngblood, only son by previous marriage; Grandchildren, Ashly, Beau, Kacy, Samantha, Sunie, Shelby, and Russell; and 12 Great Grandchildren; nephew, Chuck Connell and several Nieces.

Dad, we hope there's a garden in heaven for you, we will meet you there one day to be together again. Rest easy Dad, we love you so much.

The family will have a private celebration in the fall.
