With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, we announce Heather Colleen Raish Gamble, 45, of Durango, Colorado, passed away peacefully on April 26th, 2023, surrounded by her family and close friends.
Heather will be remembered for her strong will and courage to take on the world. She overwhelmingly fulfilled her many roles as a devoted mother, cherished daughter, steadfast sister and friend to many. Heather was born in Elko, Nevada to Roxie Green and Fritz Raish on January 8th, 1978. She completed school in Bayfield, CO graduating with the class of 1996. In 2009 she married Oliver Gamble, this union ended in divorce. She spent her entire life living in the Durango area. Some of her greatest joy came from nurturing her family and community. Heather's loyalty and compassion led to many lifelong friends.
Heather is survived by the love of her life, son, Mason Gamble. Heather is also survived by her mother and step-father Roxie and Bill Green; Heather's father Fred (Fritz) Raish and step-mother Cindy Raish; a very special "Dad" Steve Layton. Heather has one brother and four sisters, Fred Raish (Dencia), Amber Layton (Bob Grover), Tiffany Oberle (Trevor), Chelsey Green and Krista Green (Chris). Five nieces and two nephews also survive Aunt Yay-ya; Alaina Grover, Georgia Grover, Emma Grover, Carl Raish, Theodore Oberle, Charlotte Oberle and Abigail Oberle. Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents Ernest and Ernestine Chuchuru; Carl and June Raish.
A celebration of life will be held on June 10th with details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Heather can be made at TBK Bank. An account has been set up in Mason's name.
