Irene E. Gallegos, age 86 of Farmington, NM, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026.

Born on October 20, 1939, in the beautiful town of Ignacio, Colorado, Irene was the beloved daughter of Able S. Gallegos and Josephina Maria Archuleta Gallegos.

Irene's life was defined by her immune generosity and boundless compassion. She was a woman known for having a huge heart, always stepping forward to help with anyone with anything, no matter the circumstances. Her door and her heart were always open, and she asked for nothing in return.

Above all else, Irene treasured the times she spent with her family and her wise circle of friends. Whether sharing stories, offering a helping hand, or simply enjoying the company of her loved ones, her warmth and selflessness left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Irene is preceded in death by her son Angelo J. (Jr) Martinez.

Irene's legacy of love, strength, and kindness lives on through her growing family. She is deeply missed and forever cherished by her children; Raymond (Rosie) D. Martinez, Arlene (Andres) A. Luevano, Elizabeth (Armando) C. Rivas, Arthur R. Martinez, Felix (Stephanie) J. Martinez, Mark K. Martinez, and Salvador (Angelica) A. Ocano.

She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, eight siblings (four brothers and four sisters), extended family, and friends who loved her dearly.
