James Harold Streck

James Harold Streck, 82, of Durango, died 1/11/2026, at home, born 9/18/1943. Service will be held on 1/17/2026. He is survived by his wife, Shelley; daughters: Heidi Chowen and Gretchen Streck; granddaughters: Adwyn and Jolie.

Jim was a great man, filled with joy, love, and a generous, giving nature. His greatest pride was his family, and his love for them was unwavering. He had a gentle, steady, grounding presence—a true mountain of a man. His joy was quiet and constant, and his kindness was felt more than spoken. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered with gratitude, affection, and deep respect.
