James "Jimmy" Howard Zimpfer

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James H. Zimpfer, lovingly known as Jimmy, on May 16, 2025. Born in Buffalo, NY, on December 17, 1985, Jimmy was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and celebrated each game with a cookout surrounded by friends and family. In 2017, he and Meagan made Pagosa Springs their home, where they enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and the embrace of their community.

Jimmy was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He shared 18 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Meagan, building a life filled with cherished memories. He fiercely loved his children, (Jakob), Harley and Sadie, and his devotion to his family was evident.

Known as the life of the party, Jimmy had a magnetic personality that drew people in. He loved being surrounded by friends and family, making every gathering brighter with his humor and energy. His generous spirit was unmatched—always willing to lend a helping hand, he made a difference in countless lives through his kindness and willingness to help others.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Linda Zimpfer, and his dear son, Jakob Zimpfer. He is survived by his wife Meagan Zimpfer; his son Harley Zimpfer; his daughter Sadie Zimpfer; his father, David Zimpfer; his sister, Leann Lapis, and her husband, Kevin Lapis; and his nephew, Wesley Lapis. His presence in their lives was a gift, one that will forever be treasured.

A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at Amazing Grace Community Church on May 31, 2025 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his honor to the family or the GoFundMe set up for their benefit.

His laughter, love, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
