She poured herself into motherhood, fierce and tender, guiding her girls with patience, ever-present encouragement, and genuine delight at their discoveries.
Jesusa Louise Cloud, fondly known as Jessie, departed this world on August 2, 2026, in Durango, Colorado. Born on October 1, 1985, in the wide-open spaces of Wyoming, Jessie’s life was a story of love—brilliant, fierce, and beautiful—a tapestry woven from laughter in sunlit kitchens, the dusky hush of mountain evenings, and the enduring bonds that tether hearts across countless miles and decades.
From the start, Jessie embodied a rare grace—a quiet strength inherited from her mother, Dira Green, and her father, Dick Green, both of whom preceded her in death. Her spirit carried their legacies forward, echoed in every gentle gesture, every determined step. The heart of her family, Jessie grew alongside her beloved brother, PJ, now gone, and her supportive sister, Salena Arrow, who remains. With every loss she endured, Jessie met sorrow not with bitterness, but with compassion—her resilience inspiring everyone around her.
Jessie blossomed in love: first, with her late husband Alex Cloud, with whom she shared the early chapters of her adult life and a commitment that weathered life’s fiercest storms. From this partnership sprang her daughters, Somer Cloud and Jada Cloud, who were the truest lights in her life. She poured herself into motherhood, fierce and tender, guiding her girls with patience, ever-present encouragement, and genuine delight at their discoveries, their dreams, and the world they shaped together.
Later, Jessie's life was blessed with the bond she shared with Rita Clark, her wife. Together, they built a home whose foundation was mutual respect, laughter, and unyielding devotion. Rita, alongside Jessie’s cherished daughters, now carries the torch of Jessie’s legacy—a soft, glowing flame of remembrance and hope.
Family was never distant from Jessie’s mind or heart. She treasured the welcoming warmth of her mothers-in-law, Phoebe Kent and Theresa Clark, who survive her and in whom she found new kinship, fresh stories, and gentle wisdom. Jessie’s circle was never closed; rather, it grew to welcome the many she cared for, each becoming a vital part of her journey.
Jessie’s days were marked by moments that seemed to hang in the air—an embrace during a sudden rainstorm, joy found in unexpected music, her steady hand in moments of uncertainty. She approached every passage—joyous, mundane, or heartbreaking—not merely as life events, but as opportunities to deepen her compassion and her sense of wonder. Whether celebrating milestones, weathering grief, or sharing quiet everyday peace, Jessie gave wholly, openly, and truly.
To honor her, a public viewing will be held on August 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at Hood Mortuary in Durango, Colorado.
Jessie leaves behind a legacy of love: her daughters, Somer and Jada; her wife, Rita; her sister, Salena Arrow; and her mothers-in-law, Phoebe Kent and Theresa Clark. She joins those who have gone before her—her parents, Dira and Dick Green; her brother, PJ; and her husband, Alex Cloud—in a place beyond sorrow.
As those who loved her gather to remember, the echoes of Jessie’s kindness and courage continue—her story written in the hearts of her family and sung softly in the wind over the Wyoming plains where her life began.
