Joy Faye Knaggs

Joy Faye Knaggs, age 82, of Durango, Colorado, passed peacefully from this life to her eternal life on January 13, 2026. She was in her home and surrounded by her family. She is now sitting at Jesus’s feet, worshiping her loving Savior in person.

Joy was born on September 22, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, to Neuvitas “Mickey” Goins and William E. Goins. She lived a life defined by a deep faith in God and devotion to her family. She was a steady source of comfort and strength, always placing the needs of others before her own. Joy’s greatest passion was sharing her love of Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her words, actions, and service to others.

Joy was deeply involved in many service-oriented Christian organizations, dedicating countless hours to ministry, prayer, and encouragement. She had a heart for people and a gift for making others feel seen, loved, and welcomed. Her joy, compassion, and unwavering faith touched many lives.

Joy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Knaggs; her son, Mitchell Knaggs; her granddaughter, Alisha Livingston; her parents, Neuvitas “Mickey” Goins and William E. Goins; and her siblings, Eddie Goins, Mitchell Goins, and Joan Chaney.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Gifford (husband Jeff), Christy Sabelman (husband Charlie), and Kim Coufal (husband Mark); her daughter-in-law, Janet Knaggs; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, all of whom were a constant source of pride and joy for her.

There will be no graveside service. Her children will transport her to Enid, Oklahoma, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Jerry.

Joy will be remembered for her deep faith, generous spirit, and lifelong commitment to serving God and others. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
