Roland Madrid Sr

On October 10th, 2020, Heaven gained another angel. A loving husband and father Roland Madrid (41) passed away with family by his side in Durango, CO.
Preceded in death by Great Grandfather Lucio DeLaO. Survived by wife Delilah Madrid and five beautiful kids, Roland Jr., Osias, Brielle, Shae, and Julian Madrid. Grandparents Mary Esther Madrid and Max Alvarez. Mother Juliana “Cindy” Madrid and father Roland Hernandez. Siblings Teresa and Roman Madrid, Gilbert and Jesus Enriquez.
Roland was a hardworking mechanic for the Durango School Districts Transportation Department. His family meant the world to him and he worked tirelessly to provide, support, and push his kids to do great things. He was constantly reminding them to “kick some ass”. He worked to prepare his family for life; although it will be hard, he gave them the tools to pick up where he left off and continue, only stronger. He taught them to stand their ground with their heads held high and to not be afraid to look people in their eyes or tell them when they’re wrong, “The only man to fear is God”. His eyes were intimidating yet comforting and loving, and he was just that. He had a confusing yet hilarious sense of humor that left you questioning whether he was serious or not. His smile was truly one of a kind and made it difficult to stay mad at him. He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him. Services to be held at a later date.
