Marilynn Sue O'Brien
March 30th, 1949-May 14, 2023

Marilynn lived a happy and fulfilling life as a loving mother to her son Jordan O'Brien, a caring sister to Margaret O'Brien, a caring aunt to Cayley Gimelli, grand nephews Cole Winters and Austin Williams, and a friend to many others.

Marilynn enjoyed teaching kindergartners at Park Elementary, hiking around Durango and Southern Utah, going back to her Alma mater Fort Lewis College to watch Basketball games with her friends, gardening at home in Durango where she grew up, reading, and Memorial Day picnics with her family that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Rosemary O'Brien.

Per her request, a memorial potluck will be held at a later date.

The family wants everyone who misses her in this difficult time to remember that as hard as it is for her to be gone, no amount of time with her would be enough.  Don't forget to smile and be grateful for the time we had with her because we were all lucky to have such an amazing person in our lives. In leau of flowers, please make a donation in her name to Durango Trails.

"I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one"

"I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done."  Helen Lowrie Marshall
