Her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren.

Mary Louise Bowdridge (Price), passed away on July 16, 2026, in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. She was born on April 25, 1947, in North Dakota, and carried with her throughout life the deep roots of family and the warmth of the memories made there.

Mary Lou graduated from Barstow High School with the class of 1965. She went on to build a steady and hardworking career, spending 20 years with an insurance company before working for Deloss Equipment Rental in Barstow, California, until her retirement in 2016. She was also a Soroptimist member for many years and found great joy in supporting the women in her club. Each year, she crocheted a beautiful tree skirt to match the theme of their fashion show tree, which was then auctioned off, sharing both her talent and her generous spirit with others.

She was witty and deeply devoted to her family, loving her children and grandchildren fiercely. Her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, and she was more proud of them than anything else. Mary Lou loved Star Trek, read avidly, and enjoyed books of nearly every kind. She loved to crochet and to watch television, and through her hands she created amazing blankets, tablecloths, doilies, and runners that became lasting expressions of her care. She also enjoyed reading and crocheting as some of her favorite pastimes.

Mary Lou grew up in North Dakota surrounded by family, and those early bonds remained close to her heart. Her family treasures the laughter they shared, especially one unforgettable trip to the dump to see the bears, driving the car under the gate and being scared half to death before laughing so hard they nearly cried. Her grandchildren knew her as a grandmother who delighted in their happiness. She made New Year’s Eve nachos with Cody every year until he moved. She loved doing whatever made the grandkids happy, whether that meant building popsicle stick houses, making peppermint candy, or sneaking them soda when their parents were not looking. These are the moments that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
