Janet Tucson was born in Silverton, CO. Her parents, Phyllis and Conrad Salazar, moved to Durango when she was two years old. She married Hector Tucson on May 13, 1972. They had four children.
Janet worked at First National Bank until she had her first daughter, and then started doing home daycare. She raised countless children for the next forty-seven years. Janet was a kind, caring, supportive woman who fostered the lives of many. She supported growth and learning, and offered love to every child she looked after. She recently began working at Walgreens. She loved that job, and all the people she worked with. Her biggest joy in life was taking care of the ones she loved. She was extremely loved by all who knew her, and we will miss her greatly.
Janet Tucson is survived by her husband, Hector Tucson of Durango; son Faustine Tucson (Reanan Wright); daughter Robyn Tucson (Dana Plate) and daughter Cassie Meredith (Kenny Meredith); grandchildren Felepe Trujillo, Mario Trujillo, Autumn Tucson, Ezekiel Plate, Ciara Meredith, and Savannah Plate; great-grandchild Emmanuel Trujillo; mother Phyllis Salazar; sister Leslie Salazar; brother David Salazar (Nancy Salazar), and sister Trisha Salazar.
