Myrna Ford was born April 17, 1936, at Mercy Hospital in Durango, Colorado, to John and Lucille Ford. She had a deep love and connection to the mountains of Southwestern Colorado where she lived nearly all of her life. Any morning you could find her sitting quietly on her front porch with a perfect cup of coffee, communing with nature and saying her prayers. Myrna could often be found joyfully spiriting up one of the many hiking trails in the San Juans, lovingly tending to her flowers and trees, or becoming captivated by an afternoon thunderstorm or silent winter snow. The only thing she loved more than her simple mountain life, was sharing it with her many grandchildren, teaching them the ways of nature and unconditional love. She was strong and gentle with a faith that could move mountains.
Animals and babies touched her heart above all else and she was compelled to greet any and all she encountered. She was so proud and honored to have been able to attend the birth of all of her grandchildren. Her last canine companion was a giant Bernese Mountain Dog name Precious, her best friend. Myrna was also passionate about music, art, and the written word.
Compassion, gratitude, faith and love were the cornerstones of her life. She touched the hearts and soul of all of us that knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed. Myrna is preceded in death by her parents, John Ford and Lucille Grim, her brother Gerald Ford, and her beloved grandson, Cole Behr. She is survived by four children, Gregory Weber, Jeffrey Weber, Cythia Behr, Cherri' Segall, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
