Paul Leo Asmussen

October 20, 1956 — November 16, 2023

Bayfield, Colorado

Paul Leo Asmussen, "The Man", drummer, bronc rider, farmer, rancher, tile and stone installer, contractor, sales associate and an incredible father to many.

Paul was raised in Colorado and raised his family here too. Paul's greatest love was his family. Family was the most important thing to him, blood or not, you were often considered family in his eyes. He, his wife and his children were able to travel and live in Peru from 1997 to 2000. The children adored Paul wherever he went, the big, soft giant. At home, Paul was the proud patriarch and a history buff at heart.

Paul loved to meet and help people. He loved your stories and appreciated being able to tell his back. Paul loved beyond borders and time, just loved living. He loved his recycling, fixing and creating. Paul loved to “tinker” and loved his wife. Their love created the gentleman that he was. Their moto was “Go, Do & Be”! If you were blessed to know Paul, you know that he was a “jack of all trades”. He always did his best at work, but he loved the people most.

Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Lou Asmussen and brother, Raymond Asmussen.

Paul is survived by his wife, Sandra Asmussen; father, Harry Asmussen; son, Jacob Asmussen; daughter, Jaymie Asmussen; grandson, Cooper Beeman; and granddaughter, Kylie Beeman.

In lieu of flowers, please contact Jaymie Asmussen 970-946-3706.
