Penny was born March 12, 1969, in Durango, Colorado to John and Wilma Zufelt. She was the 13th of 13 children. She was loved, well taken care of and spoiled by all her brothers and sisters. She brought a special spirit into their home she was a happy girl, she had a great sense of humor and loved everyone.
She attended school until the 8th grade she could read and write very well. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; she loved to read the scriptures and bear her testimony of her Savior. She loved magazines and had stacks and stacks of them. Her favorite activity was finding names for the babies she would have some day.
After her father passed away, she and her mother moved move to Texas in 2013 to be with her sisters and then to Archer, Idaho to live with her brother and sister-in-law in 2014. Penny fit right in, in the Archer community and was loved by all and of course she loved everyone. Penny was very healthy in her younger years. Unfortunately, in these later years she began to have some major health problems, not the least of which was Alzheimer’s. She passed away from pneumonia on December 6th.
Penny is survived by 11 siblings: Ken (Mae) Zufelt, Larry (Sheila) Zufelt, Anita (Charles) Temple (TX), Bruce (Debbie) Zufelt, Lee (Connie) Zufelt (ID), Coral (Lennie) Roland (AL), Wade (Margie) Zufelt, Iris Lucero (TX), Jill (David) LaMunyon (NE), Lora (Leslie) King, Elaine Tucker (TX).
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Wilma Zufelt, and a sister: Fern Hodges (ID).
Funeral services will be in Durango, Colorado on Saturday the 13th at 11:00am in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel, with a viewing prior from 10:00-10:45. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery.
