Randy Joseph Paulek, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, in his cherished hometown of Durango, Colorado. Born on April 2, 1964, Randy was a lifelong resident of Durango, where he grew up and created countless memories.
He was a proud graduate of Durango High School, where he formed friendships and relationships that would last a lifetime. Randy dedicated many years of his professional life to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, where his passion and work ethic were evident. He also contributed his skills to the Southern Ute Transportation and Florida Mesa Mosquito Control, always offering his best to every task he undertook.
Randy had a deep love for the outdoors that shaped much of his life. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and camping, experiences that allowed him to connect with nature and share memorable moments with his family. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, fostering bonds and creating laughs that will forever resonate in the hearts of his loved ones.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Rhonda Andrews, Roxann Aulbert, Theresa Waters, and Renee Reifschneider; his brothers, Nick Paulek and Tyler Paulek; as well as various nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, William Darrell Paulek, and his mother, Elvera Paulek. Their loving guidance and support helped shape the incredible man he became.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Randy’s life with a Rosary service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Durango on June 16, 2025, at 9:00 am, followed by a Mass at 10:00 am and his burial at Greenmount Cemetery, commencing at 11:00 am. These services will provide an opportunity for those who knew and loved Randy to come together to honor his memory and reflect on the joy he brought into their lives.
