Evelyn Risen

June 18, 1953 — January 24, 2022

Evelyn was born June 18th, 1953. She passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2022. She has seven children, 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren who will all miss her presence here on earth. This is a loving tribute from her children; Our mom Evelyn was a very talented crafts woman. Her hand brought beauty to everything she touched. One of her favorite things to do was hunt for unique rocks and paint them into perfect works of art. She was an amazing cook, gardener, seamstress, wood worker, you name it, she could do anything. We are all very lucky to have things she gifted and taught us, and we will treasure both forever. Everyone that our mom knew has some piece of her that she made and gave to them with love in her heart. She gave us life, and many special souls are here for us to love and call ours because of her. We are eternally grateful for her, her sacrifices, and the unfortunately all too often painful things she had to endure and overcome. Her love and forgiveness never faltered, and is a beautiful example we can all learn from. Her love was powerful. We will all honor our mom and strive to keep her legacy alive in the way we continue to live our lives without her earthly presence. She was a loving mom and friend; so many of us could add pages to these sentiments. She will be deeply missed, and there is so much left unsaid. Rest easy mom.

The Journey of a Mother ...
A Mother is more than a memory. She is a living presence. Your mother is always with you. She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, she's the smell of certain foods you remember, perfume that she wore, she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling well, and she's your breath in the air on cold winter's day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the color of a rainbow, she is Christmas morning. Your mother lives inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop. A mother shows every emotion...happiness, sadness, fear, jealousy, love, hate, anger, helplessness, excitement, joy, sorrow... and all the while, hoping and praying you will only know the good feelings in life. She's the place your came from, your first home and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, not space...not even death.
