Shelby Charlene Campbell

Shelby Charlene Campbell was born on February 6, 1993 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. While she spent most of her young life in Colorado she called many places home (including Omaha, NE) before settling down in Durango, CO.

Those who knew Shelby will remember her beaming smile, boisterous laugh, and her uncanny ability to connect with people.

Shelby deeply cared for others. With an effortless light that shined brightly from her soul and filled everyone around with joy. She never knew a bad day and would be determined to turn yours around if she sensed you were blue. To Shelby, every interaction was an opportunity to extend kindness and respect.  Her fulfillment came largely from influencing positive change in the lives of others; she truly enjoyed watching people get better.  

Whether making new friends at the bead store she managed, delivering comedic relief at the Starlight, or walking down Main Ave with a bright smile and notable stride – Shelby SHINED. She had an effervescence about her that was contagious, she reminded us all what it means to truly be alive.

Shelby would want us to remember her beloved best friend, Emma Sims, and her family during this time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they grieve the loss of their loved one as well.

In lieu of flowers we ask that those with a calling to give – Donate to a charity, volunteer your time to a good cause, avail yourself to friends or family going through hardship. In true Shelby fashion, give more than you receive and make someone else’s day a little better, brighter, shinier… for Shelby.

Shelby’s Celebration of Life will be held at St Columba Church on October 24, 2025 at 6pm. A potluck reception will follow in the gymnasium. Come as you are.
