Thomas Roland Stevenson, 89, of Bayfield, Colorado was called home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2025. Thomas was born in Hope, New Mexico on September 3, 1935 to Moses Roland Stevenson and Callie Allie (Horrell) Stevenson. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On September 11, 2021 Thomas married his wife, Julianne Richard (Hart)(Loughridge) Stevenson. They shared many years of happiness together along with their 2 cats, Boo Boo and Calico. They had a home in Bayfield, Colorado and in Deming, New Mexico. Some of Thomas' greatest virtues was his willingness to help others, he was relied on by many to help clear trees with his backhoe or do tractor work, and his devotion to his wife and the rest of his family. He enjoyed listening to music, especially fiddle music. He loved to work with wood whether it was a large project like building his cabin in Bayfield or crafting wagon replicas of the early settlers or even making fiddles that he played music on. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Moses Roland, his mother, Callie Allie, 2 sisters, Evelyn Joy Stevenson, and Sara May Stevenson, and 2 brothers, Andrew Jackson Stevenson and Glen Curtis Stevenson. He is survived by his wife Julianne Stevenson, and his sister Lula (Beth) Keith of Deming, and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. Thomas touched many lives and will be missed greatly. Rest in Peace, Uncle Tommy, until we meet again. You will never be forgotten. A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas will be August 7, 2025 at 10:00 at St. Bartholomew Church in Bayfield, Colorado. Burial to follow at Pine River Cemetery. |
