Travis Benjamin Roquemore's Obituary

Travis Benjamin Roquemore, 36, passed away in his home in Durango, Colorado on February 9, 2026, of complications from epilepsy and CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalitis).

Born on December 22, 1989, in Grapevine, Texas, Travis grew into the kind of man who made people feel safe and cared for simply by being himself. In high school, he earned the nickname Travis “The Rock” Roquemore while playing football, and it was a title that followed him in spirit long after he graduated.

He was steady, loyal, quietly strong, and someone that others could lean on. Those who knew Travis best understood that beneath that strength was a gentle giant with an even bigger heart.

He graduated from Texas Tech University and was preparing to begin a Master’s program at Adams State University in counseling this coming summer. Travis had always followed a path that reflected his natural empathy and desire to help others.

Travis loved cooking, his dogs, his family, hiking, and being outdoors. He especially loved animals with an uncomplicated devotion and they seemed to love him back just as easily. More than anything, he loved his people: his friends, his family, and those fortunate enough to be allowed into his inner circle. Travis believed in connection and compassion. He believed in reaching out at just the right moment, in showing up for the people he loved, and in loving them deeply and without reservation. His kindness was not always loud, but it was constant.

Travis was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Voodoo. He is survived by his loving mother, Karla Reinmuth Roquemore, his father, Mark Roquemore, his brothers Bryan and Lee, his cousins Reid and Kyle Reinmuth, his sweet dog Stu, and many life-long and loving friends.

A service will be held June 13th, in South Fork, CO, at 1:00 PM to celebrate his life, where we will bury his ashes, and plant a tree. There will be food and story swapping. All are welcome to attend. Address is 146 Mill Creek Lane.

He will be remembered for his loyalty, compassion, humor, and the deep love he gave so freely. Travis was, in every sense, a good man. He will be deeply and profoundly missed.

In his memory, always, Be Kind.
