Jose Trujillo

December 28, 1969 — September 6, 2022

Jose "Moggs" lost his 3 year battle with cancer, he passed with family and friends close by on September 6, 2022, he was 52 years old. Moggs will be dearly missed by all those that were lucky enough to know him. Jose was born on December 28, 1969 in Tiffany Colorado to Victoriano and Maria E. Trujillo. He grew up on the family ranch with his many brothers and sisters.

Jose graduated from Ignacio High School and attended the VoTech school in Cortez, CO to train in welding.

Jose was a Jack of All Trades and could fix just about anything. He worked in various aspects of construction, building houses and operating equipment in the oil and gas industry.

Jose had four children: Daniel, Deanna, Alex and Marcus.

Jose had many friends and enjoyed talking on the phone with his friends and family. He had the unique ability of turning a quick grocery store errand into an afternoon event; visiting with everyone he ran into. Jose loved to make people laugh and constantly “harassed” the people he loved the most. He treated his chemotherapy appointments as though it was a social event; befriending the clerical staff, nurses, doctors and techs that took such great care of him.

Jose was known to be hard working and always willing to give a helping hand when someone needed him.

Jose is survived by his wife Paula Lopez-Trujillo, children, Alex Lopez, Daniel, Deanna and Marcus Trujillo, Siblings, Patricio Trujillo, Lucy Stewart-Albrecht, Elena Trujillo, Jose Fernando Trujillo, Maria Trujillo, Ava Trujillo-Espinosa, Gloria White, Benji Lopez and Andrea Valdez. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Jose is proceeded in death by his father Victoriano Trujillo and mother Maria E. Trujillo; Brothers – Marcos, Robert, and Victor Trujillo and Avelino Valdez; Sisters, Connie Albo and Ora Archuleta.

A Rosary will be held at 6:00pm on Friday, Sept. 9th, 2022 at Hood Mortuary Chapel, 1261 E. 3rd Ave., Durango. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Saturday Sept. 10, 2022 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Ignacio, CO, with interment to follow at Rosa Cemetery.
