Twilah L. Bell

Twilah L. Bell passed away November 29, 2023 at the age of 92.

Twilah was born March 22, 1931 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado to Louis and Ila Montroy. She graduated from Pagosa High School in 1949 and later that same year married Lowell O. “Mike” Bell in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

She and Mike moved to Durango in 1955 and together they raised three sons, Ronald, Micky and Dale. Twilah was a member of D.A.R. and worked for many years for La Plata County in the Clerks, Assessors, and Treasurers Offices.

Twilah was preceded in death by her spouse Lowell “Mike” in 2014.

Twilah is survived by her sons: Ronald (Barbara) Bell of Dayton, Oregon, Micky Bell of Ignacio, and Dale Bell; 4 grandchildren; Christine and family of Austin, Texas; Michelle Lengal and family of Aztec, New Mexico; Shawn Bell and family of Buckeye, Arizona; Lori Fuller and family of Medford, Oregon and 10 great grandchildren.

Cremation for Twilah has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
