William Herbert Young Jr.

William (Bill) Young Jr. age 90 of Durango CO passed away on November 4, 2023 at Junction Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center. 
 
Bill was a life long Durango native. He attended St. Columba Catholic School and graduated from Durango High School in 1950. After high school he attended St. Louis University and then graduated from Denver University in 1954. 
 
After college he returned home to Durango to work in the family business, Schluter Floral established in 1885 by his great grandparents. Bill took great pride working in the family business that continued operation for more than 100 years in the community that he loved. 
 
Bill loved gardening, classical music, playing cards, and always a good cocktail. He was preceded in death by his sisters Shirley Butler and Marilyn Krul. He is survived by his nieces and nephews Elizabeth (Kevin) Sawyer, Mary Jeanne (Steve) Brittain, Robb Butler, Bill (Jeannette) Butler, and Christine (Craig) Frazer as well as many great nieces and nephews. 
 
A private family service will take place in the Spring
