On Wednesday, February 17th, 2021 Ira Mack Willie, a devoted, loving, husband, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his wife Diana Willie, son Ari (Nick) Willie, and his Aunt Pauline Armenta who raised him from childhood. He is survived by two daughters, Maria Briggs, Matilda Bruner, his sister Vera O'John and many grandchildren. Ira was born on December 24th, 1942 in Cuba, New Mexico to Burt and Ida Willie. Ira served in the United States Marine Corp from 1966-1970 and earned many accolades and veteran status for his services in the Vietnam war. Ira then spent many years as the groundskeeper at Fort Lewis College. Ira had a passion for education and loved watching weather specials on National Geographic and just about anything on the History channel, all while drinking his favorite strawberry milkshakes from Freddy's. If you ever needed a smile, he had just the joke to bring you one from ear to ear. His kindness for others held true, even consoling his roommate at the hospital during his final days.
